The creator of the super-popular “Love & Hip Hop” franchise and CEO of Monami Entertainment, Mona Scott-Young has signed an overall deal to develop unscripted series’ with Lionsgate, with additional options to work on scripted projects as well.
Lionsgate TV’s exec VP, Jennifer O’Connell, said, “We’re thrilled to partner with an incredibly creative and talented producer who is one in a million. Mona is a talent magnet who has established remarkable relationships in the entertainment industry and created one of TV’s biggest reality franchises. We look forward to collaborating on exciting content for our alternative programming slate and can’t wait to kick off our partnership.”
According to Variety, Scott-Young said she would pursue projects under the deal for “unscripted series that can break barriers and resonate across all audiences.” She credited Lionsgate as being “an entrepreneurial Hollywood studio that endorses bold, original content and the artists behind it.”
This will add to Mona’s already extensive list of projects to include four #LHH series set in New York, Atlanta, Hollywood and Miami, managing mega-star #MissyElliott, executive producing “Xscape: Still Kickin’ It” for Bravo as well as producing the group’s reunion tour. She also owns MYX Fusions Moscato with #NickiMinaj.
