Rumors about a scuffle involving DJ Mustard, rapper Mistah F.A.B. and Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch spread fast after a big weekend of Bay Area shows. Here is what was being reported at the time, along with the responses.
YG, IamSu and DJ Mustard performed at KMEL Summer Jam in Oakland, and an after party followed Sunday night at The Mezzanine in San Francisco, where Mustard played a DJ set. According to sources cited by FantasyAlarm.com and passed along by TMZ, Lynch, Mistah F.A.B. and their friends went after Mustard’s crew, reportedly angered by remarks Mustard made on a New York radio station. Other chatter online claimed a chain was snatched during the night, but that was not confirmed.
Not everyone agreed with that version. TMZ reported that Mistah F.A.B., who was there, said tensions were high but the two groups never actually fought, and that he and other rappers said Lynch took no physical part. TMZ said Lynch’s representatives had not responded to its request for comment, and a club representative had no comment.
Mustard and YG also pushed back on the reports, which we cover in our follow up story.
