Rapper Mystikal, whose real name is Michael Tyler, has been charged with first degree rape in Louisiana, according to reports. Charges are accusations, and Mystikal is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
The charge stems from an incident that reportedly took place on October 22, 2016, at a casino in Louisiana. Officials reportedly say evidence at the scene was linked to Mystikal and to 26 year old Averweone, who was arrested in Texas on Friday. Police also charged 42 year old Tenichia, a Texas native, who officials say tried to convince the alleged victim to retract her story.
According to reports, a judge set bond at $2 million for both Mystikal and Averweone, with each facing one count of first degree rape. Tenichia’s bond was set at $200,000. At the time of the reports, Mystikal and Tenichia had not been taken into custody.
Mystikal was released in 2010 after serving time in prison on a sexual battery conviction. No public response from him about the new charge had been reported at the time of this post.
We will share more as details come in.
