New Music Friday is undoubtedly our favorite day of the week, and August 15th is filled with flavors from our favorite artists.
Chance the Rapper is single again and back to tell us about it. The Chicago star introduced his latest album, “Star Line.” The superstar plans to hit the road with his latest project, which finds him in a vulnerable state, including touching on his divorce from Kirsten Corley.
Cardi B also delivered her highly anticipated “Imaginary Playerz” anthem. The record was teased just days ahead of its release, sparking immediate buzz. This was largely due to Cardi sampling Jay-Z’s iconic 1997 track, “Imaginary Player.” Cardi stated during a livestream that Jay himself hailed the record, which finds Cardi delivering gritty New York bars with a flashy visual to go along with the release.
Singer Danni Baylor is continuing her single run with her latest track, “Koolade.” Serving as a follow-up to July’s “Warm,” Danni delivers an anthem examining the pressures of being a celebrity and pushes back against “sippin’ on illusions,” while warning crowds to refrain from drinking the tempting Kool-Aid of fame.
Whether you’re here for retrospective vibes or empowering calls to action, there is plenty to choose from this New Music Friday to keep your playlist jumping.
