Nicki Minaj’s MAGA Era Hit With Bombshell Report Alleging 18,000 Bots Boosted Her Political Posts

Nicki Minaj’s growing presence in conservative politics is now facing new questions after a data firm reported large-scale bot amplification tied to her social media activity.

A new analysis from Cyabra, a company that tracks coordinated inauthentic behavior online, identified more than 18,000 accounts it believes artificially boosted Minaj’s political posts on Twitter between November 11 and December 28. The firm estimates it is about 85 percent confident that those profiles are fake.

The activity coincided with Minaj’s increasingly vocal support of Donald Trump and her repeated attacks on California Gov. Gavin Newsom. During that stretch, her posts generated millions of views and drew engagement from prominent conservative influencers. In January, she joined Trump onstage at the Trump Accounts Summit and later filmed a TikTok video with him.

Cyabra CEO Dan Brahmy said the scale and crossover stood out.

“We don’t really see a lot of high volume, high impact orchestration of bad and fake actors within that intersection of the geopolitically driven and music culture,” Brahmy said. “It is scarce in our field to see the combination of the bad and the fake online world with the entertainment world.”

The report states that “Supportive comments generated by fake profiles were predominantly brief, repetitive, and low in semantic complexity, consisting largely of praising keywords and positive hashtags rather than original or substantive engagement.” On December 26, the company found that 56 percent of comments on Minaj’s political posts came from accounts it classified as fake.

Trump adviser Alex Bruesewitz rejected the findings.

“Nicki has never used bot activity to promote herself on social media, because she doesn’t need to,” he said. “She has one of the largest fan bases of any musician that’s alive today.”

A spokesperson for Newsom responded sharply: “Like most MAGA mouthpieces, we are not surprised Nicki Minaj needs bots to stay relevant.”
