Rick Ross has always had an eye for talent, but the story of how Nino Breeze officially joined the Maybach Music Group family is straight out of a movie.

During a recent sit-down on “The Baller Alert Show,” Nino Breeze shared the journey that led him from a federal prison cell to a deal with one of the biggest labels in hip-hop.
A n***a I was locked up with named Kano, you feel me,” Nino explained, recounting the history of his friend who was caught up in a high-stakes DEA sting involving Haitian pirates.
“One of his dawgs told him that they had one and when he ran on the boat it wasn’t nothing but DEA agents waiting for him and s**t.”
While serving his fed bid, Nino connected with Kano, who became an early believer in his talent. Even after Nino was back on the streets, the two stayed in close contact.
“He liked my music and we kept in touch,” Nino shared. “So when I was dropping music I’d send it to him, he’d play it for Ross.”
The turning point came when Nino released his standout track, “Type Ah N***a.” As soon as the Biggest Boss heard it, the deal was practically done.
“Dawg heard that b***h and was like ‘nah this got to be MMG’ so we went from there,” Nino said.
It just goes to show that sometimes the most unconventional paths lead to the biggest opportunities.
