DaBaby child support is officially settled. DaBaby and DaniLeigh have signed a 13 page agreement covering custody and support for their 5 year old daughter, Velour Babyleigh Kirk, according to court documents obtained by TMZ. Under the deal, DaBaby will pay DaniLeigh an undisclosed amount every month.
The DaBaby child support amount and the custody terms were both kept out of public view, so how the two will split time with Velour remains private.
The settlement closes out a court fight that started in 2024, when DaniLeigh filed a paternity case. In her petition, she described herself as Velour’s primary caregiver and asked the court to order monthly support.
DaBaby never disputed that he is Velour’s father. He did push back on DaniLeigh’s account, telling the court he had a very close relationship with his daughter and had been heavily involved in her life since the day she was born. He asked the court to declare him the legal father, set child support, and give the two of them joint custody.
A signed agreement is a long way from how these two ended things. In November 2021, when Velour was just three months old, their breakup played out on Instagram Live. Fans watched DaBaby film DaniLeigh while she fed the baby, and the argument escalated until police were called to his Charlotte home. Charlotte Mecklenburg police charged DaniLeigh with two counts of simple assault after DaBaby told officers she attacked him. He called police again the next morning to report another incident, then went live to call her a “certified side [expletive]” and claim the two were never actually a couple.
DaniLeigh later told Angie Martinez the relationship was toxic, but said they had really good times and were in love. She poured the split into her music, releasing the single “Dead to Me” and the EP My Side, and said she played two of the EP’s most personal songs for DaBaby to get closure.
Nearly five years after that public blowup, the custody and support terms for Velour are now settled on paper.
