A 51 year old Bucks County, Pennsylvania man named Lee was arrested this week on sexual assault charges after police went to his home following reports of child abuse from neighbors.
Police said they found 12 girls living in the home and that at least one of them had been sexually abused. According to police, one of the girls was 18 years old and had been given to Lee four years earlier, at age 14, by her parents to settle a debt. Authorities said two of the young girls found in the home were her children.
Lee is facing charges that include statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault and corruption of minors. The girl’s parents were also arrested on charges of criminal conspiracy and endangering the welfare of a child. Police said the couple told investigators they had read online that the arrangement was legal.
It was unclear whether the other nine girls were also the couple’s children or came from elsewhere. As of Friday, all of the girls had been taken into the care of Child Protective Services. Lee and the couple were being held on $1 million bail. None of them had been convicted at the time of this report, and responses from them were not available.
