Philadelphia police are investigating an allegation of sexual assault made by a dancer against Eagles wide receiver Nelson Agholor, according to Philadelphia magazine and police statements.
The woman told police the incident happened Thursday around 3 p.m. at Cheerleaders Gentlemen’s Club in South Philadelphia, near the team’s practice facility. She also said other Eagles players were at the club. Agholor has not been charged.
Police Commissioner Richard Ross said the Special Victims Unit is investigating, detectives are trying to obtain video footage from the club, and they hope to interview Agholor soon. A lawyer for the club said it knows of the allegation and is cooperating with law enforcement.
Agholor’s attorney, Fred Perri Jr., rejected the accusation. “Nelson has not engaged in any criminal conduct,” he said, adding that he is confident Agholor will not be charged.
The Eagles said in a statement: “We are aware of the police investigation surrounding Nelson Agholor. The organization has been in contact with Nelson and with the proper authorities in Philadelphia. Because of the legal nature of this matter, we will have no further comment.”
Agholor, 23, was drafted 20th overall by the Eagles in 2015. An allegation is not a finding, and we will share more as reliable reporting comes in.
