Entrepreneur and newest “Real Housewives of Atlanta” addition, Pinky Cole, is moving to keep her private life private as she navigates a personal bankruptcy case.
The Slutty Vegan founder has officially petitioned the court to allow her to file sensitive financial records under seal, expressing deep concern that her business data will be spread across the internet by digital creators and news outlets.
In recent court filings, Cole, who refers to herself as a “celebrity,” highlighted that her legal proceedings have already become a focal point for content creators looking for a viral story. With a massive brand like Slutty Vegan under her belt, Cole is required to disclose information on several of her companies as part of the case. However, she argues that making these records public will only invite unnecessary scrutiny and “baseless” commentary from the media.
The legal maneuver follows a string of financial challenges for the plant-based mogul, who is currently managing nearly $1.4 million in debt, including a COVID era Small Business Administration loan and state taxes.
Despite the public nature of her business, Cole has been vocal about wanting to handle her reorganization with dignity. “I could have easily gone to social media and did a rally cry for help, but I didn’t want to be a victim,” she previously shared regarding her decision to file for Chapter 11.
For Cole, sealing these documents is about protecting the future of her empire as she steps into the spotlight on RHOA.
