The video deposition of Donald Trump has been released. The edited one-hour video includes his testimony on the accusations against him, the “Access Hollywood” tape, and the Russia “hoax.”
Trump was interviewed in October 2022. The deposition video was played before the jury in the E. Jean Carroll civil battery and defamation trial.
At that time of the deposition, Trump confirmed that he made the allegedly defamatory statements denying knowing Carroll, calling her allegations that he raped her in a Bergdorf Goodman’s dressing room in the mid-1990s a “hoax,” and saying she is not his type.
Trump is also heard telling Carroll’s attorney, Roberta Kaplan, that she, too, is not his type, CNN reported. Throughout the deposition, Trump calls Carroll a series of names, including “nut job,” a “whack job,” and “mentally sick.”
At another point, he mistakes Carroll in a photo for his second wife, Marla Maples. Even holding up the picture and pointing at it while saying, “That’s Marla, That’s my wife.”
He was also asked about the Access Hollywood tape, which he said was locker room talk and something stars – including himself – could get away with “fortunately or unfortunately.”
Trump appears most agitated during the deposition when he denies the rape allegation, saying it is “the worst thing you can do. The worst charge.”
He makes remarks about having the right to defend himself and insulting someone who insults him.
Trump rambled off a list of what he believes are hoaxes, including “Russia, Russia, Russia, Ukraine, Ukraine, Ukraine.”
