Beyoncé continues to break barriers, leading the 2025 Grammy nominations with 11 nods and showcasing her versatility with a strong showing in country music categories. Her latest project, Cowboy Carter, has earned recognition across all four country categories, marking a major milestone in her career.
Cowboy Carter landed Beyoncé nominations for Album of the Year and Best Country Album, while her chart-topping single “Texas Hold ‘Em” is up for Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Country Song. Additional nods include Best Country Solo Performance for “16 Carriages” and Best Country Duo/Group Performance alongside Miley Cyrus for “II Most Wanted.” Beyoncé also earned a nomination for Best Americana Performance for “Ya Ya.”
With these latest nominations, Beyoncé’s career total has reached 99 Grammy nods, surpassing Jay-Z, who holds 89 nominations, including his work on Cowboy Carter. Already the most awarded artist in Grammy history with 32 wins, Beyoncé now has a chance to take home her first Album of the Year award.
Beyoncé isn’t alone at the top, however. Taylor Swift, with her project The Tortured Poets Department, earned a historic seventh nomination in the Album of the Year category. Other contenders include Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft, Sabrina Carpenter’s Short N’ Sweet, and projects from Charli XCX, Andre 3000, Jacob Collier, and Chappell Roan.
Kendrick Lamar is also a major contender this year, earning seven nominations, including Record and Song of the Year for “Not Like Us.” Eilish, Post Malone, and Charli XCX each have seven nods, while Swift, Carpenter, and Roan follow closely with six.
The race for Record of the Year features a diverse set of nominees, with hits from Swift, Post Malone, Carpenter, and the Beatles joining Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em” and Lamar’s “Not Like Us.”
Beyoncé’s strong presence in the country and Americana categories follows a history of genre-crossing moments, including previous snubs. Her Cowboy Carter nods come just months after missing out at the CMA Awards and reflect her continued efforts to broaden her musical influence.
The 2025 Grammy Awards air on February 2 from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, with final voting open from December 12 through January 3.
