We’re STILL talking about PRACTICE?Â
Allen Iverson has become synonymous with his infamous rant about practice, a rant that up until recently, many didn’t know where it stemmed from. Now that he’s up for induction at the NBA HOF, he’s being asked about his practice rant once again. “I don’t have any regrets,” Iverson tells the press. “If you watch the documentary, you’ll understand why I was so upset. My best friend had just gotten killed. I thought the press conference was to tell the whole Philadelphia and the rest of the world, ‘Don’t worry about the trade rumors, I ain’t goin’ nowhere.’ But they were talking to me about…”
You guessed it, the press conference would rather focus on Iverson not appearing for practice. “You could have brought up lasagna and I would lasagna over and over. I was already on edge,” Iverson explains.Â
He says that he initially got news that he wouldn’t be traded, and thought that was what he would be discussing. Unfortunately things didn’t turn out that way. “I wish I could take it back but I can’t. I wish I could take it back because my daughter, my kids, even tease me about it,” Iverson jokes.  “I’m a Hall-of-Famer and I can go to a restaurant and someone will come up to me and say ‘Practice? We talking about practice?’ I am a Hall-of-Famer and that’s all you can think about is me saying practice? But it is what it is, man.”Â
