Amazon is the gift that keeps giving. The company is looking into offering free or low-cost mobile plans to Prime members.

Sources close to the matter told Bloomberg News that the online retailer has been in talks with multiple network providers, including Verizon, T-Mobile, Dish Network, and AT&T, on a deal that would use the existing network to offer the cellphone services to its Prime subscribers.

It could take months before the plan is set. But there is also the possibility that the plan could cease.

An Amazon spokesperson told Fox Business, “We are always exploring adding even more benefits for Prime members, but don’t have plans to add wireless at this time.”

Last month, there was also buzz on Amazon’s deal with Dish to phone plans through Amazon, which “could give the telecom company’s 5G rollout a lifeline.”

Nearly a decade ago, Amazon rolled out its own smartphone, the Fire Phone, which operated on AT&T’s network, but it was dropped due to low sales.
