Amber Rose is opening up about her positive co-parenting situation with Wiz Khalifa in a preview for her upcoming Tamron Hall appearance.
In the interview, she shared thoughts on navigating challenges and reaching a positive phase in her life after the separation from her child’s father.
“I think that me and Wiz are so, best friends now, that — we’re so far past being in love that I can say that now, right? It’s not like anything that we would circle back to or anything. We’re just friends and co-parents,” she said in the clip.
As you know, the 40-year-old model shares 10-year-old Sebastian Taylor with Khalifa and another son, 4-year-old Slash Electric Alexander, with ex Alexander “AE” Edwards.
During the appearance, Hall inquired about a prior interview in which Amber Rose discussed the emotional toll of her breakup with the rapper Wiz Khalifa, 36.
I “cried for like three years straight” she said on the No Jumper podcast last year. “Wiz was the love of my life. I used to just sit in the shower and be like, ‘F—,’” she said at the time.
“Well usually, celebrities won’t do that ‘cause they don’t want the whole internet to say something. And for me, I just need to be honest,” Rose told Hall.
When asked if it was “healing” to share those details of her life, Rose said it was “just the truth.”
“To your point, sometimes, celebrity or not, you have a friend that [says] ‘How did you do after the breakup?’ your friend will lie and say, ‘Girl, I’m over him. I’m good.’ So, it’s not just celebrities, people often hide their heart to protect their heart,” Hall said.
Hall then inquired if the mother of two took any lessons from her previous heartbreak.
“Never love again, and then I did, and the same thing happened,” Rose said.
Hall said laughing, “That’s not the lesson.”
“Stay away from me, that’s the lesson,” Rose joked.
Hall persisted in asking Rose if she had gained any insights from her past experiences, affirming her belief that she would eventually find love again.
“Right now, I love myself. I love my kids. I’m not thinking about no man, Tamron,” Rose said. “Not right now.”
“Having my own schedule. Not worrying about what anyone else is doing. Waiting for a text message. Not having to send a good night text when I don’t feel like it. Not worrying about what they ate today or what they didn’t eat — I don’t have time! I’m worrying about what I wanna eat,” Rose said smiling.
The episode is expected to air on Wednesday.
