Angel Reese‘s success continues to soar following her recent national title win. Apart from the various NIL deals, the “Bayou Barbie” is also preparing to make her Sports Illustrated debut.
Reese is set to be showcased in the upcoming swimsuit edition later this month. The publication shared an image from her photoshoot with renowned photographer Yu Tsai, which took place in Los Angeles. In one of the photos, Reese can be seen wearing a purple bikini and striking her well-known ring celebration pose, which stirred up controversy during the NCAA tournament.
“Angel Reese is a phenomenal basketball player,” SI Swimsuit Editor-in-Chief MJ Day said. “She’s an All- American and was named the Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA women’s basketball tournament.”
Reese’s feature comes just a week after she announced her NIL deal and celebrated her 21st birthday. Following her NCAA championship win, the emerging college athlete gained the status of a “sports it-girl” and seems to be at ease in the public eye.
In addition, Reese has become an advocate for tough female athletes after facing backlash from a hand gesture she performed during the game. Nevertheless, Reese put an end to the rumors about her relationship with Caitlin Clark, the Iowa State player she teased with a “you can’t see me” gesture in the closing moments of the championship game.
