We all thought Michael Strahan closed the gap in his front teeth but come to find out, it was an April Fool’s joke.
Two days after posting a picture with new teeth, Strahan confirmed it was all a joke, Page Six reported.
“I appreciate all the comments. I was surprised, to be honest with you, at how many people were like, ‘No! Don’t get rid of the gap. It’s your signature!’” he said in a video posted on social media Thursday.
“I didn’t know so many people really cared … I appreciate all the love for the gap,” Strahan, 49, continued. “C’mon, man! The gap is here to stay. Not going anywhere anytime soon … My mama likes it.”
Strahan’s diabolic “joke” was pulled off with the help of Dr. Lee from Smile Design Manhattan. Earlier this week, he posted a video of his teeth while at the dentist’s office.
“That was a good one,” New York Giants player Sterling Shepard commented.
“Thank god!!! I was heartbroken,” one fan posted.
“I knew it,” another said. “Long live the GAP!”
