ESPN reports, The New Orleans Saints and Pro Bowl tight end Jimmy graham have agreed to a four-year deal worth $40 million that includes $21 million guaranteed. Making Graham the highest paid tight end in NFL history
Both sides came down to the wire before the Tuesday deadline for franchised-tagged players to sign long-term contracts. However, it is a good sign that there won’t be any lingering animosity considering Graham had filed a grievance on May 8th, asking to be declared a wide receiver instead of a tight end for franchise tag purposes. His request was rejected earlier this month.
In the end this deal is a win-win for a team and player that have been a perfect fit for each other since Graham was drafted three-years ago. Congrats to Jimmy Graham.
