Through their philanthropic initiatives “BeyGOOD” and the “Shawn Carter Foundation,” Beyoncé and JAY–Z are partnering with Tiffany & Co. to launch a new scholarship program for students attending five Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
The Tiffany & Co. About Love Scholarship will donate $2 million to students pursuing the arts and creative fields at Lincoln University in Pennsylvania, Norfolk State University in Virginia, Bennett College in North Carolina, University of Arkansas Pine Bluff, and Central State University in Ohio.
The scholarship fund will help students to devote themselves to their studies. “This opportunity is timely as our students come from many different socioeconomic backgrounds,” Dr. Jack Thomas, the President of Central State University, said in a statement.
According to their university’s guidelines, current or incoming students at these five schools must qualify for financial aid. They also have to pursue degrees in creative fields, history, or communications.
Students facing financial difficulties will be given priority, and the amounts of the individual awards will be based on individual student’s needs.
