The Houston home once owned by the Knowles family caught fire early Christmas morning, but the current residents managed to escape safely.
The fire was reported around 2 a.m., as flames consumed the second floor of the two-story brick house. According to local news, firefighters arrived within three to five minutes and contained the fire within ten.
“We had it contained in about 10 minutes,” Houston Fire Department District Chief Justin Barnes told the Houston Chronicle.
The family living in the home escaped without injury, but the cause of the fire is under investigation.
The Knowles family purchased the home in Houston’s Third Ward in 1982 and lived there until the superstar was about five years old. Just months ago, Beyoncé visited the Houston landmark during a stop on her Renaissance World Tour, introducing her babies to her hometown.
