Boosie, who has been outspoken about his views on homosexuality, is breaking his silence about his oldest daughter coming out as a lesbian.
Iviona Hatch, who goes by her rap name Poison Ivi, went Instagram official last month with her girlfriend. Iviona’s followers praised the couple in the comment section but pointed out her father’s well-documented stance on the LGBTQ+ community. Boosie has criticized Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union for the handling of their daughter, Zaya Wade’s public coming out as transgender. He also briefly had a feud with Lil Nas X, going on a homophobic-filled Twitter rant when Nas X joked about them having a song coming out together.
The “Green Light Special” rapper could no longer avoid the elephant in the room, and DJ Vlad wasted no time asking him his opinion during their recent sit-down. Clearly a somewhat touchy subject, the rapper explained that he was unaware of his daughter’s sexuality, though he had suspicions. Like the rest of the world, Boosie learned the truth about Iviona via social media. While he says her being a lesbian won’t be “accepted” in his southern baptist family, the love for his daughter could never change.
“We’re gonna love her to death, but at the same time, our family, it’s never been that way,” he said before declaring, “She grown. She can do what the hell she want.”
Boosie then went on to praise his 21-year-old daughter for creating her own music career and a life for herself independent of his success. Despite his differing views, the Louisiana star is extremely proud of the young woman.
