Boosie isn’t going down without a fight. With sentencing just weeks away in his federal gun case, the Baton Rouge rapper is pulling a political move; he’s hired Washington lobbyists in hopes of landing a presidential pardon from Donald Trump.
Boosie has enlisted J.M. Burkman & Associates, led by Jack Burkman and Jacob Wohl. The pair are no strangers to controversy, both having pleaded guilty to election-related fraud in 2022. Now, they’re working to get Boosie’s case in front of Trump as the rapper tries to avoid serving a recommended two-year sentence.
Back in May 2023, Boosie was arrested in San Diego during a music video shoot. Police found two guns in his vehicle, leading to federal charges after an appeals court reopened the case. Though he initially fought it, Boosie recently accepted a plea deal, telling fans he was “tired of fighting.”
This isn’t his first public appeal to Trump either. Earlier this year, Boosie took to social media asking the former president to review his case, claiming he was unfairly recharged by the Justice Department after a dismissal.
With his sentencing set for November 21, Boosie is betting big that Trump might intervene—but when it comes to presidential pardons, nothing is guaranteed.
