Bottega Veneta is standing behind the quality of its beautifully crafted handbags with the launch of its lifetime warranty program.
The “Certificate of Craft” program was rolled out days ago and is meant to cover the fashion house’s luxury purses. Customers can send their genuine bags to Bottega for cleaning and repair at no additional cost.
With the launch of the service this month, newly sold Bottega bags will come equipped with a physical and digital card marked with a unique serial number that they’ll need in order to ship the bag to the “Certificate of Craft” service center. However, it remains to be seen how Bottega will authenticate handbags sold prior to the program’s launch if they need servicing.
Bottega Veneta CEO Leo Rongone explained that the new program’s purpose is to ensure each bag has longevity.
“We focus on responsible growth. Our intention is to maintain products in use for longer, reducing the need for replacement,” Rongone explained. He shared that the luxury bags, which start at $990, are “designed to last forever.”
Bottega’s new initiative also pushes the company’s promise of sustainability. About 100% of their packaging is recycled. Repairing high-end goods instead of getting rid of them will reduce fashion waste, which has posed a big problem for decades. In 2020, the brand released its Kraft Paper bag, made entirely of recycled corrugated cardboard paper.
If your bag needs repairing and you purchased it before the program’s rollout, reach out to a Bottega Veneta retail store for shipping instructions.
