Bryan-Michael Cox has responded to Usher’s blazing lawsuit stemming from a soured business deal.
Usher filed the suit in Fulton County against Cox, Keith Thomas, Charles Hughes, and attorney Alcide Honoré, alleging they approached him to help fund a new restaurant and lounge called Homage ATL. According to the complaint, Usher wired $1.7 million in January, expecting the group to purchase property on Piedmont Road. Months later, the sale had not happened. Usher recovered $1 million but says the remaining $700,000 is still missing. The lawsuit claims Honoré told him repayment was “not that easy” because the money had been spent on “other purposes.”
Cox pushed back on Instagram, with a detailed statement, saying he is stuck in a “failed deal that I did not orchestrate” and emphasizing that his “27-year friendship with @usher remains fully intact.” According to the record producer, his name has been thrown into the situation, which he is confident will be resolved quickly.
“I was not a participant in that business transaction and have no involvement in the ongoing legal process,” he captioned the post, which featured an image of him with Usher.
