If you are an avid chocolate candy eater like myself, you will not be surprised to hear that candy consumption has gone up 47.05% since last year.

With Valentine’s Day around the corner and chocolate being a top gift, the data will likely increase for this month too.

Based on its data review from TopAgency.com, 83% of Americans eat more than five servings of candy a month.

M&M’s ranked number one for most popular candy in 20 states, and Skittles ranked second as the most popular candy in 17 states, the New York Post reported.

Other candies among the most popular candy list across various states were KitKats, Snickers, Reese’s, and Starburst for Nevada.

TopAgency.com conducted surveys and used the data from Google Trends.

M&Ms took the lead for Georgia, Florida, California, Colorado, New York, and several others.

Skittles was number one in many states, including Alabama, Arizona, Michigan, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
