Just two years after Cardi B’s record-breaking breakout year, the Spicy Mami is taking her talents back to the strip club. But this time, instead of dancing for dollars at Sues Rendezvous, the Bronx-bred rap star has joined the cast for the new STX Entertainment stripper story, “Hustlers.”
Along with Cardi, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Lili Reinhard, Keke Palmer, Julia Stiles have also signed on for the forthcoming film, which is described as an adaptation of the New York magazine article, “Hustlers at Scores.”
Directed by Lorene Scafaria, the film will chronicle the tale of a few former strip club employees, who orchestrate a plan to steal thousands of dollars from their rich Wall Street clients. Set in 2000, following the financial crisis, the film also follows the impact the crisis had on the dancers.
With Constance Wu and Jennifer Lopez, who is also set to produce, already on board, the cameras are expected to start rolling on Friday in New York, the publication reports.
“We could not have asked for a more exciting or talented lineup of performers to join our cast,” chairman of STXfilms said in a statement.
