Cardi B Teases New Album — But Is She Also Signaling the Start of Her Single Era? [Video]

Cardi B is preparing for a new era, though it seems she may also be hinting at a new relationship status.

Still riding the wave of her acclaimed sophomore release, “Am I the Drama,” Cardi surprised fans by sharing that she was working on a brand new album. According to Belcalis, she wants to drop the project sometime next year. While this information sent fans into a frenzy, it was a small detail about the untitled record that has raised some eyebrows. 

“It’s going to be different from ‘Am I the Drama.” And I kind of know what the directions that I want to take it. I hope and pray that in the next year, I don’t have to rap about certain things that I rapped about this album. And I’ll be in a better space with men,” she laughed. 

While she didn’t dive into that last sentence, Cardi’s love life has been a topic in recent months. Since announcing that she is pregnant by football star Stefon Diggs, there have been multiple reports of Diggs having other women pregnant or having recently welcomed babies. He is currently embroiled in a legal battle with influencer Lord Gisselle, who claims he fathered her infant daughter. Furthermore, he is rumored to be expecting a child with fitness Influencer K’yanna Barber. Back in May, he was also spotted leaving a hospital with a woman holding a baby seat. 

Cardi B initially made light of the situation during an Instagram Live, joking that Diggs is fathering her child and another. However, with a new era on the horizon and clearly new material to speak on, it’s evident that something is brewing in Cardi’s personal life.

Making matters more sticky, her divorce from Offset remains ongoing, though both have expressed the desire to wrap up the legal proceedings and move on.
