Anyone who knows me knows that I have been a huge Allen Iverson fan since around 2001/2002. I’ve followed the ups and downs of his career and his era was undeniably one of my favorite times in professional basketball. A new documentary titled “Iverson” is set to debut on Sunday, April 27 at the Tribeca Film Festival and we get to see Allen’s story told by those that new him best, Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade, coach Larry Brown and of course Iverson himself. The film touches on Allen’s influence to the NBA culture and how he’s  changed it forever.
Judging from the trailer this looks like a must watch and I hear there are some very emotional parts in the film as well.

After all of his personal drama and his inability to get back into the league, it’s good to see Allen Iverson get recognition as the icon that he was. He was a small player with a big heart and sometimes that heart got the best of him. I’m glad he gets his roses while he is still alive to smell them because a lot of great people don’t.
