Child custody battles are rarely clean nor easy to fight, especially for celebrities. #ChrisBrown and his daughter’s mother, #NiaGuzman are the next parents headed to court to hopefully find resolution in their custody arrangements for their 4-year-old daughter, Royalty.
Guzman has hired none other than attorney #LisaBloom to assist her in a child support modification motion and Chris isn’t having it, so to court they will go. She is asking Chris for $21,000 per month to support Royalty as well as entitlement to $250,000 in retroactive child support, she believes she should get based on #California child support guidelines in relation to income. Her figures come from the fact that Chris reportedly made over 4 million dollars over the past two years, which calculates to roughly $350,000 per month. She believes he should be able to afford an increase in support.

According to The Blast, Nia reports that her monthly expenses include: $3,300 in rent, $3,500 in food and $4,500 in clothes and entertainment for #Royalty. She says that she is “underwater” in bills and has even had to borrow money from friends. Her income is approximately only $400 per month from an online clothing boutique.

Chris believes his daughter already receives everything she needs and that paying a significant amount more in support would simply be spoiling her and that’s not in her best interest. He claims based on Guzman’s financial records, between her income, Brown’s support and spousal support she receives from a previous marriage, Guzman ends up bringing in more than $6,628 a month. He also says that more than 90% of her monthly expenses are paid for by other people and that he has his daughter 12 days a month, far more than the 20% Guzman alleged.

Chris currently pays $2,500 per month in support and gets supervised visitation. He also spends another $4,000 for a nanny (who happens to be Nia’s mother), $2,000 for private schooling and medical expenses and approximately $3,500 for travel, gifts, and entertainment.

The case is still pending as the court determines if any changes to support will be made.
