Chris Cuomo Says Police Reform Will Happen When “White People’s Kids Start Getting Killed”

Chris Cuomo seems to understand why police and gun reform isn’t as big of a priority as it should be. He said police reform wouldn’t happen until “white people’s kids start getting killed.”

On “Cuomo Prime Time,” the CNN anchor argued that not enough is being done about the issue because it simply doesn’t affect white families as often as it does people of color.

Cuomo spoke frankly, telling his viewers, “Shootings, gun laws, access to weapons. Oh, I know when they’ll change,” he said. “[When] your kids start getting killed. White people’s kids start getting killed.”

Cuomo asked his audience, “What’s going on with these police? Maybe we shouldn’t even have police,” he suggested before speaking directly to white people in his viewing audience.

Looking stoically into the camera, Cuomo said, “That kind of madness. That kind of mania. That will be you. That will be the majority. Because it’s your people,” he said.
