Recently, news broke that Actor/ comedian Chris D’Elia was accused of sexual misconduct for interacting with underage girls online.
Now, in an attempt to clear his name, D’Elia’s team has released his email exchange with the minors he allegedly solicited, to the public.
“It is important that the public has all the information to make an informed decision on the coordinated attacks on Chris D’Elia,” one of D’Elia’s reps told Page Six. “These messages help prove that all of Chris’s relationships were both legal and consensual.”
Reps for the actor, who is featured on NBC’s Whitney, provided the email exchange between D’Elia and Clara Schaller, to the outlet.
Schaller posted emails between her and the actor from 2012 when she was 17, where D’Elia is seen saying he wants to have “naked sex” with her. However, she didn’t post the full conversation.
Reps for D’Elia showed Page Six the full exchange where midway through the conversation, D’Elia asked for her age, where she jokingly responded “12” in which he replied, “Answerrrrr.” She answered him by writing, “24?”
But, Before asking her age, he asked for pictures of her, and according to the outlet, he continued the conversation before getting a direct answer on her age.
D’Elia’s team also released emails between the actor and a woman named Colleen Riley, who also posted her conversation with him.
In the exchange she uploaded, D’Elia asked to “make out” with her, and she responded, “Chris, I’m 16.”
“Oh, sh*t. I thought you were at my [comedy] show. Gotta be 18 [to get into that] at least. My bad. Bye,” D’Elia responded, however, Riley didn’t upload that part of the exchange.
The third girl who accused D’Elia of misconduct, Simone Rossi, told the LA Times that back in 2015, at the age of 16, she had a conversation with the comedian online where he asked to “make out” and send him pictures of herself.
However, D’Elia’s reps also released an email from October 2019, where Rossi reaches back out to the star, writing, “I’m 21 now and [down to f**k].” However, according to his reps, he didn’t respond to her.
Rossi took to Twitter with screenshots, stating, “Imagine being 16 and being groomed by a stand-up comedian twice ur age and the only reason you never met up and never got physically m*lested was because u had just gotten a boyfriend of ur own age. … He was the one that used the power imbalance between us to his advantage so f**k chris d’elia.”
However, his camp didn’t provide evidence to refute claims, for what, the LA Times called an “avalanche of screenshots,” from other women who have come forward accusing D’Elia of misconduct.
“I have never knowingly pursued any underage women at any point,” D’Elia has since said in a statement, adding that he’s “truly sorry,” for his actions. “All of my relationships have been both legal and consensual, and I have never met or exchanged any inappropriate photos with the people who have tweeted about me. …I was a dumb guy who ABSOLUTELY let myself get caught up in my lifestyle. That’s MY fault.”
D’Elia has since been dropped from his talent and booking agencies.
