On Friday, the 28-year-old NFL star announced the passing of his father, Don Richardson, in a heartfelt Instagram post.
Watson shared a somber message on his Instagram Stories, writing “Rest in Peace Pops,” alongside a broken heart emoji and praying hands over a black background.

Richardson was reportedly estranged from the quarterback for much of Watson’s life after leaving the family when the athlete was young.
