One lucky ‘Family Feud’ contestant has been awarded $10,000 worth of Popeyes chicken after her hilariously wrong answer went viral.
Eve Dubois entered the sudden death round playing against Logan Tomlin in hopes of winning the game and a total of $10,000.
Gerry Dee, host of ‘Family Feud’ Canada, explained what was at risk and proceeded to ask the final question of the game, which consisted of only one answer.
“Name Popeye’s favorite food,” Dee said to Dubois and Tomlin.
Dubois instantly hit the button and sung her answer. “Chickeeennnnn,” she responded, while also doing a hilarious dance immediately after.
While everyone was left stunned at her answer, Tomlin jumped in, giving the correct answer, “Spinach, Gerry.”
Dubois wasn’t aware that Gerry was referring to Popeye, the cartoon character.
“I thought you meant Popeyes chicken,” Dubois explained.
Though Dubois may have cost her family the game and $10,000, the clip went viral and, according to People, was viewed over 1 million times, catching the popular fast-food chain’s attention.
Taking to Twitter, the fried chicken chain tweeted in response to the clip of Dubois’s answer, “@sublimevey! Our survey says you got that right. DM us to claim your $10,000 worth of Popeyes.”
Dubois also found humor in the situation and took to Twitter to post a video of her dancing with fried chicken, captioning it, “This was taken two years ago… #theoriginalchickendance?”
