Sad day for the Dallas Cowboys who have just found out that their team mate  Jerry Brown was killed in a single car accident and another team mate was to blame.

Dallas Cowboys nose tackle Josh Brent was arrested on charges of intoxication manslaughter after flipping his car in Irving, Texas Saturday morning in an accident that killed Cowboys practice-squad player Jerry Brown, according to Irving police.

Per a police statement, Brent was driving his car at a high rate of speed at 2:21 a.m. when he hit the outside curb on Route 114, causing the vehicle to flip at least once and then come to rest in the middle of a service road. Brown, a linebacker who was signed to the practice squad in October, was a passenger in the car. Brown was unresponsive on the scene and transferred to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Responding officers believed alcohol to be a contributing factor. Brent did not pass sobriety tests and underwent a mandatory blood draw at a nearby hospital.

“We are deeply saddened by the news of this accident and the passing of Jerry Brown,” team owner Jerry Jones said in a statement. “At this time, our hearts and prayers and deepest sympathies are with the members of Jerry’s family and all of those who knew him and loved him.”

Cowboys VP Stephen Jones told USA TODAY Sports: “It’s sad. Very sad. It’s tragic for everybody.”

How horrible to die at the hands of someone else. This isn’t Brent’s first time driving under the influence either. He was charged with DUI in 2009 and did 200 hours community service and 2 years probation. I guess he didn’t learn his lesson.

RIP Jerry Brown. The Cowboys face the Cincinnati Bengals today. Prayers with all of Brown’s friends and family.
