Delonte West has officially checked into a Florida rehab.
According to reports, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban checked West into a rehab after he reunited him with his mother. Apparently, his family and friends have been ‘trying desperately’ to get him some help, and now Cuban has offered to pay for the treatment.
On Monday, Cuban picked West up from a Dallas gas station to help the former basketball player get his life on track.
“Mark Cuban reached out to Delonte West’s mother, Delphina Addison, asking how he can help. Answer was simple: find Delonte,” Shams Charania reported. “Cuban did on Monday, waited with West until his mother arrived to hotel, and West finally took step many close to him have awaited: Entered Rehab.”
Cuban is one of the many people in the NBA who has been trying for years to help West after he discussed his struggles with bipolar disorder during his NBA career. Cuban reached out to West’s mother after pictures circulated last week of West with a homeless sign at an intersection in Dallas.
TMZ noted that Jameer Nelson, Doc Rivers, his former head coach, and the NBA Players Association have been offering to help the former basketball player get back on his feet.
