Earlier this week, the music industry lost an icon. David Bowie lost his battle with cancer on January 10. He was just 69 years old.
According to PEOPLE magazine, the late singer was quietly cremated in NYC just days following his passing. Bowie’s loved ones have opted to pay their respects with a private ceremony. Â “The family of David Bowie is currently making arrangements for a private ceremony celebrating the memory of their beloved husband, father and friend,” read a statement via Bowie’s official website on Thursday.
David Bowie is survived by his wife of 24 years, Iman, their 15-year-old daughter Lexi, and his 44 year old son Duncan Jones, from his first marriage.
