Kawhi Leonard is a star player for the San Antonio Spurs with a star contract to match. But despite bringing in $94 million, he still drives a  beat-up 1997 Chevy Tahoe and pays for his Wings Stop with coupons.Â
CBS Sports did a pretty interesting piece on Leonard, highlighting his hard work, his dedication to the sport since age 7, and of course the fact that he financially cuts corners where he needs to.Â
The 2014 Finals MVP and 2015 Defensive Player of the Year spends his summers in a 2-bedroom apartment in San Diego, where he set up a mini-hoop over his door. He even drives a fixer-upper Chevy Tahoe, nicknamed Gas Guzzler, that he’s had since he was a teen.  “It runs,” Leonard explains, “and it’s paid off.”
That’s not to say that Leonard doesn’t like fancy things, though. He also has a Porsche that he rarely drives.Â
Leonard, who is perfectly fine with still rocking outdated cornrows to pay homage to Carmelo Anthony, is sponsored Wingstop, which sends him coupons for free wings and despite his $94 million contract with the Spurs kicking in over the summer, he panicked when he lost his free coupons. Â
