Disney films have brought to life many iconic, yet fictional characters that audiences of all ages adore across the globe. To say that Disney is having a good year is a gross understatement. Their earnings are through the roof and aren’t expected to slow down anytime soon.
While some have criticized the idea of remaking some of Disney’s classic films, the numbers don’t lie. The remake of ’The Lion King’ has earned $1.65 billion at the box office, making it the seventh highest-grossing film of all time. It now outranks the 2012 box office hit, The Avengers and sits just under Jurassic World, which earned $1.67 billion.
Disney exceeded $7 billion in overall box office sales for 2019 by July and is projected to reach $10 billion by the end of the year with the upcoming release of ’Frozen 2’ and ’Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.’ After this year’s success, you have to wonder what Disney has planned to deliver another year of great films for next year.
