The fiancée of DMX revealed that she is still struggling with the loss of the rapper nearly a year after his death.
Desiree Lindstrom, who shared a 5-year-old son with the late hip-hop icon, appeared on the “It’s Tricky with Raquel Harper” podcast. During the emotional interview, the aspiring esthetician detailed the difficult healing process that she is enduring “second by second.”
“My life changed so fast in the blink of an eye,” Lindstrom recounted tearfully before adding, “I just push myself. It’s really hard. Holidays get lonely. It do get lonely because Earl was my family.”
Lindstrom and DMX were engaged to be married at the time of his death in April 2021. The “Slippin” rapper suffered a heart attack and passed away after several days on life support. It was reported that at the time of his death, he had 15 children.
Lindstrom says that as time passes, she is focused on her son and living a life that X would be pleased with.
“I just want to build myself to be a great mother to Exodus. I want him to see that he has a strong mother that can stand up on her own, and I’m just trusting in God through the process. I go up and down with emotions. I have to really force myself to keep it moving, keep going.”
Lindstrom keeps the Grammy-nominated MC’s memory alive through constant IG posts and dedications.
Let’s continue to keep her and the rest of his loved ones in our thoughts and prayers.
