Another primetime host has been let go. Don Lemon announced he has been let go from his anchor role at CNN.
“I am stunned,” Lemon posted to Twitter. “After 17 years at CNN, I would have thought someone in management would have had the decency to tell me directly.”
Lemon has been with CNN since 2006. Before that, he worked at NBC Chicago and worked as a correspondent for NBC News, the “TODAY” show, and “NBC Nightly News.”
The news comes after Variety reported earlier this month that he was accused of mistreating more than a dozen female colleagues throughout his career with the network. Most of the sources spoke anonymously to the outlet.

Lemon also caught a lot of criticism after making controversial comments on-air, including his remarks on Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley, 51, when he said she was no longer in her “prime.”
“Nikki Haley isn’t in her prime, sorry,” Lemon said. “When a woman is considered to be in her prime — in her 20s, 30s, and maybe her 40s.”
Lemon says his agent informed him that he was being terminated.
CNN CEO Chris Licht confirmed the news, saying that the network and Lemon have “parted ways,” according to a memo provided to NBC News Monday.
“Don will forever be a part of the CNN family, and we thank him for his contributions over the past 17 years,” the statement said. “We wish him well and will be cheering him on in his future endeavors.”
