The DoorDash driver who allegedly left a note in a food delivery ordered by an NYPD cop has been caught.
“Hope that d-k taste good bitch!” read a note that was left in a delivery to the 61st Precinct station house in Sheepshead Bay. Video footage posted on Facebook showed a driver opening up a Chipotle bag and sticking the note inside. “Ya kno I’m bout to violate the s–t out this order 61st precient [sic],” the post read. “I dreamed of moments like this … god u been so good to me like idk how to re pay u.”
Police ended up catching the driver, who was identified as 30-year-old Lance Layne. He was arrested on Thursday, and when asked whether or not he put something in the food, he responded: “Definitely didn’t. It was a prank.”
Layne said that there was no ill-intent behind the note. “It wasn’t no target,” he said. “I got nothing against him…it was a prank. They know that.”
According to the NYPD, the New York Post reports Layne has been charged with attempted assault on a police officer, tampering of consumer product, and criminal tampering. Layne has also been removed as a driver for DoorDash.
