Dwayne’ The Rock’ Johnson has had a multitude of entrepreneurial endeavors in the past. Specifically in beverages, he’s grown the tequila brand he owns a 30% stake in, Teramana, into one of the more notable spirits brands on the scene.
Now, he has shifted his attention to another beverage, but it has a twist this time. ZOA Energy aims to stand out as a healthier and more effective energy drink in the market. The Rock’s involvement has undoubtedly boosted the brand’s visibility, and he recently signed deals with seven highly visible college athletes, making a significant impact in the sports world.
Johnson played college football at the University of Miami in the 90s, so it’s no surprise he tapped some of today’s college sports stars for his “The Rock’s Warriors” NIL program.

Among the standouts are Georgia’s star tight end, Brock Bowers, UNC’s Quarterback Drake Maye, Miami’s safety Kam Kinchens, and Ohio State’s wide receiver Marvin Harrison. Rounding out the elite seven are NCAA Champion Angel Reese of LSU, Northwestern State’s polarizing basketball player Hansel Emanuel, and Florida A&M’s softball player Amaya Gainer.
“I personally selected these phenomenal individuals because of the energy, tenacity, and excitement they bring to the game,” Johnson said in a statement. “With a diverse set of stories and experiences, they’re driven, hungry, talented, and ready for ZOA to help fuel them to greatness.”
The most notable NIL deal for some of these players. Another endeavor that The Rock has his hands in, and it’ll be interesting to see how these athletes grow in, more than likely, their last college season. As they grow, ZOA energy grows.
