Passengers onboard the quarantined cruise ship plagued with the coronavirus are now suing the cruise line.
Ronald and Eva Weissberger, who are currently stranded on the Grand Princess cruise ship, filed a lawsuit against Princess Cruise Lines seeking at least a million dollars in damages, TMZ reports.
The ship finally docked Monday after being quarantined off the coast of California for at least a week. The couple claims the cruise line was ‘grossly negligent’ in allowing thousands of passengers onboard, knowing there had been coronavirus cases on board.
They claim the ship’s staff knew about at least two passengers who had coronavirus from a previous fleet. One of those passengers has since died.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The Weissbergers, who are older with underlying health conditions, say that the cruise ship also had a horrible screening process that never tested any passengers before boarding.
Instead, passengers filled out paperwork stating whether they were sick or not.
They claim that they would have never gotten on the ship had they known they could potentially be infected and say the cruise line put profit over the safety of their passengers.
