It’s Easter Sunday, and we are all still quarantined inside our households due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Luckily, DJ Envy is looking out by throwing an all-day live DJ event called DJ for a Good Cause Easter Sunday. The flier reads, “sit back and enjoy music from…” all your favorite DJs. The bill includes DJ Envy, and DJ Clue kicked things off at 12 pm, with D-Nice coming in hot right after at 1 pm.
The rest of the lineup includes DJ Camilo, Kid Capri, DJ Prostyle, DJ Scratch, Quicksilva, DJ Spinking, Mr. Rogers, DJ Diamond Kuts, Tony Neal, and DJ Will headlining from 11 pm to midnight. As far as DJ Envy and DJ Clue, the two were recently honored to make the list on XXL Magazine’s 48 Greatest Hip-Hop DJ’s Of All Time.
Just two days prior, DJ Envy revealed to his 1.8 million followers on Instagram that he’s starting a GoFundMe for DJs all across the globe impacted by the sudden shutdown of concerts, shows, club events, functions, strip clubs, lounges, and festivals due to COVID-19. On the GoFundMe page, Envy states, “During this pandemic, you’ve seen DJs step up to the plate and throw virtual parties to keep the spirits up during this quarantine. It’s tough right now for so many DJs to provide for their families with no bars, clubs, lounges, or events to work.”

DJ Khaled, one of the most lit DJs of our generation, did his part by donating a huge portion of Envy’s set goal of $50K. Khaled tweeted, “Bless up to the DJs! I saw @djenvy’s go fund me post and heard the goal was to raise 50K for the DJs, so I put the remaining $45,255 up. We are here to support each other! We are in this together!”
In an exclusive interview with Baller Alert, Envy reveals why he felt the need to give back to DJs in need. He states, “I’m a DJ and I know how tough it is for DJs at this time. Most DJs don’t have healthcare, savings, retirement plans or have their business set up where they can get a stimulus check. I began to think, how are my fellow DJ’s going to provide for their families and put food on their table? I decided to help.”
With the world on mandated lockdown for over a month now, Envy touches on adjusting to the new normal. “At this time, I’m just trying to make sure my family is healthy. I’m eating well, exercising and taking lots of Vitamin C, D, and Zinc. I’m enjoying every minute with the Casey Crew. I know soon enough it will be back to the ground so I’m appreciating this time.”
As far as the first thing he’s going to do after quarantine, Envy plans to hug and kiss his parents, with high hopes of seeing his daughter graduate from high school. As we enjoy the live sets from these fire DJs, fans are encouraged to date to the GoFundMe here.
