In Michigan, a family is taking legal action against their neighbors after their 6-year-old son, Coby Daniel, was shot while retrieving his bike.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Daniels is still recovering after being shot by neighbor 29-year-old Ryan Le-Nguyen and the family is expecting to pay several medical bills.
The boy’s father, Arnold Daniel, claims that his son is constantly in pain and shock due to the incident and that he will require professional help and mental and psychological counseling.
Coby’s father also believes that the neighbors, Le-Nguyen and Michael Inhmathong, should be held liable for the damage because they knew children in the neighborhood played near their yard and were responsible for keeping it safe for them. They also claim Le-Nguyen had previously shown “aggressive behavior” toward the children.
It was previously reported that Le-Nguyen shot Coby in the arm after chasing the boy around with a sledgehammer. Coby and a friend allegedly irritated the neighbor by leaving their bicycles on the sidewalk in front of his house.
Coby’s father has filed a lawsuit against his neighbors for at least $4 million in damages.
