On Saturday, Beyoncé and Jay Z took their talents to the Peach State to perform in front of thousands at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium for their highly-anticipated “On The Run II” tour.
However, just after the power couple wrapped their new club banger, “Apesh*t,” a drunken fan rushed the stage, in an attempt to get a closer look at the musical King and Queen. As the fan darted toward the couple, making contact with Jay, Bey’s army of performers rushed to her rescue, while security escorted the fan out of the area.
“At the end of last night’s show, we had an intoxicated male enter the stage,” the tour said in a statement. “At this point, we had a controlled evacuation of all crew on the stage in order to safely defuse the situation.”
Bey’s publicist revealed that the couple were “fine,” after rumors surfaced of minor injuries.
“Thank you to all the fans for your concern,” Yvette Noel-Schure said. “They are fine and looking forward to the show tomorrow.”
According to USA Today, the fan, who has been identified as Anthony Charles Thomas Maxwell, 26, has been slapped with a citation for disorderly conduct and charged with simple battery.
As for the first family of hip-hop, the two hit the stage on Sunday night. But after the show, Beyoncé took extra precautions in her exit, looking over her shoulder to make sure no one was heading her way.
