Starting her career at Grambling State University majoring in mass communications, Tina also worked for the local radio station KRSU, then moving on to be the Operations Manager for a syndicated show.
In 1994, Tina was hired as a Creative Assistant in the Black Music division of Chrysalis Music Publishing. Within a year she was offered the opportunity to A&R at Def Jam’s West Coast office, where she would oversee the labels pioneer West Coast artists such as Warren G.
Def Jam’s CEO Lyor Cohen was so impressed with Tina that he persuaded her to leave the West Coast office and move to New York as Senior Vice President of A&R.
During her time at Def Jam, Tina launched the careers of DMX, Method Man, Red Man and Montell Jordan as well as assisting in the re launch of veterans such as LL Cool J and more. She also developed hit soundtracks such as The Nutty Professor II, Rush Hour, Belly and How To Be A Player.
Upon her departure from Def Jam, Tina discovered R&B phenom Chris Brown and currently manages his career.
