Fetty Wap speaks out for the first time from federal prison since being arrested for drug trafficking.
On Tuesday, an audio clip from the “Trap Queen” rapper appeared online, and he seems to be in good spirits. Fetty thanked his fans and supporters who remained positive since the arrest.
“Ayo, yo, what’s good, man, you already know it’s your boy Fetty Wap 1738, you heard,” Fetty says. “I just want to thank all the fans. You feel me? All the fans showing me love, sending all the reels and the stories and everything and all the tags, photos and everything like that you heard.”
He continues, “You know I got my head up always, you know what I’m saying? Like never bent, never fold, I love y’all thank y’all for everything you know what I’m saying.”
The audio clips comes just weeks after a photo of Fetty and three other inmates hit the internet.
On August 8th, Fetty was arrested for allegedly threatening to kill a man on FaceTime. Fetty was already out on a $500,000 bond and the threat violated the conditions of his release.
On August 22nd, Fetty pled guilty to federal drug charges in connection to his drug trafficking case. Fetty says he was involved in possessing and distributing 500 grams of cocaine.
The guilty plea comes with a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison and a maximum of 40 years.
