Ex-NFL star Chris Johnson is being accused of funding murder-for-hire shootings that left two men dead in 2016.⠀⠀

According to court documents obtained by TMZ Sports, Johnson is accused of paying a suspected gang member to kill two men who shot him and killed his friend, back in 2015.

The 34-year-old has not been formally charged with a crime, but prosecutors believe he paid a “noted Florida gang member” named Dominic Bolden to kill the suspected gunmen in a drive-by shooting in Orlando in March of 2015.

Johnson is a three-time Pro Bowler who last played in 2017 for Arizona.  He was shot in the shoulder during a shooting in Orlando but made a full recovery. The driver of Johnson’s Jeep at the time, Dreekius Oricko Johnson, died after being shot in the head.

Law enforcement officials at the time said Johnson was “uncooperative,” and investigators suspected his vehicle had been targeted. Police now believe the shooting was gang-related.

An informant reportedly told authorities that after Johnson’s shooting, Bolden allegedly gunned down the suspected shooters in two separate incidents in January and July 2016 around Orlando. In return for the alleged actions, Johnson helped Bolden lead a drug trafficking organization and provided him “funds and an individual” who could supply him with narcotics for the drug trafficking organization.

Johnson’s rep told TMZ, “There’s no validity to any of these accusations.”
