Four men in Indiana have been arrested after they allegedly broke into a woman’s home and held her captive at gunpoint, demanding that she hand over money from her cashed government stimulus check.
According to the Daily Mail, Paul Blankenship, Phillip Guzman, Christopher Henderson, and Jacob Baughman have all been charged with burglary with a deadly weapon, attempted armed robbery, criminal confinement with a deadly weapon, burglary, and breaking and entering for their participation in this crime.
According to Indiana Police, all of the men were familiar to the victim and were aware that she had recently received her stimulus check. The suspects broke into her home around 1:30 am using a spare key and woke the woman up at gunpoint, demanding she give them her money.
The suspects searched the house looking for the cash and grew frustrated when they could not find it- that’s when things got violent, and Guzman assaulted the woman.
The men eventually left the woman’s residence at around 6:00 am and took her cell phone so that she could not contact the police.
When the victim was sure they were gone, she drove herself to the Lake County sheriff’s office to report the incident. All four men were arrested and detained a short time later.
Guzman, Henderson, and Baughman are each being held on a $75,000 bond while the fourth man Blankenship is being held without bond.
